Congratulations team - find out about our latest in-house promotions!

As a business who prioritises our company culture and the development of our staff, we always aim to promote internally. All members of our team are given the opportunity to progress on to new challenges and roles as they arise, enabling them to grow effectively within Fitzrovia IT.

It’s widely agreed that in-house promotion benefits both a company and its clients, with employees gaining specialised skillsets within a supportive environment. As highlighted in Forbes magazine, ‘some of the most talented and involved executives are those who’ve grown from entry-level positions at the same company’.

In recognition of this fact, we want to highlight some of our fantastic team who have recently received promotions at Fitzrovia IT!

Anuj Mehta Promoted to Chief Technology Officer

Anuj has been with Fitzrovia for the longhaul, first joining the company in 2007 as Support Analyst (when there was only a total team of five!). Through dedication and hard work, he quickly progressed to management level where he continued to excel. In recognition of this, Anuj has continued to move up through management, now having been promoted to the role of Chief Technology Officer (CTO).

As CTO, Anuj is responsible for leading Fitzrovia’s technology strategy, overseeing the roll-out of new operational products and services, whilst also ensuring the development and growth of our IT infrastructure.

Anuj is a hugely valued asset at Fitzrovia, taking our partnerships and technology to new levels. He was recently invited amongst a select group to participate in the 2023 Microsoft SMB Security Scholarship Program - forging new friendships and partnerships for Fitzrovia both at home and abroad.

George Coumas Promoted to Chief Information Security Officer

George first joined Fitzrovia IT in 2015 as a Senior Engineer before first being promoted to the role of Professional Services Engineer. He’s since taken a more specialist route focused on cybersecurity, becoming Fitzrovia’s Head of Security in 2021, before his recent promotion to Chief Information Security Officer (CISO).

As someone who has always had a passion for IT and computers, it was inevitable that George would end up on a highly successful trajectory in the tech world! Of his first foray into tech he told us, ‘During my time at school I joined the computer club, and they had a hacking challenge to see who could get into the school library network. A few years later I chose to do an ICT A level and the rest is history’.

You’d hope that anyone who opts to hack their school network would put their security skills to good use - which George thankfully did.

Since joining Fitzrovia over 8 years ago, George has utilised the resources provided by the company to progress and develop his career. Of the support provided by Fitzrovia he said, ‘from the outset the business had a clearly defined path for my progression. A clear training and certification path was defined which matched the needs of the business as well as my own core areas of interest. As the shift towards cloud technology gained momentum, the business placed me at one of our key clients who used the latest security and cloud technology stack. This also helped me develop my skills in the areas of cloud and security’.

It is this kind of development which benefits both individual employees, and Fitzrovia as a whole. Engaging with personal interests in fields such as security and cloud technologies enables our experts to provide first-class support to clients, giving them access to novel technologies and optimal security.

Finally, George shared his advice for young IT professionals hoping to establish themselves securely within the industry. He shared, ‘Don’t be afraid to take on new challenges and projects, even if you’re not comfortable with the technology.

Multiple Service Desk promotions!

We’ve also had three exciting recent promotions within the Service Desk team! Gent Bunjaku has been promoted to the role of CISG Team Leader, having only been with Fitz for just over a year and a half. In his new role, Gent is responsible for supervising the first line team - assisting them in any way he can.

Both Tom Oliver and Miriam Varma have also both been recently promoted, both moving to the role of Junior Escalation Engineer! Both Tom and Miriam are credited for working extremely hard in their previous roles, becoming fantastic engineers that we’re very fortunate to have at Fitzrovia.

If you feel our company values and ethos reflect what you want from your workplace, then don’t hesitate to apply for one of the roles we’re currently advertising.
