8 Great Fitzrovia Events Happening This Month

There’s so much more to do with your lunch break, than simply enjoy the sunny squares of Fitzrovia. We’ve rounded up the best of the great Fitzrovia events happening throughout the next month, so come on over and check them out!

1. Feast @ Fitzrovia, brought to you by Fitzrovia Partnership – Monday, 27 June to Sunday, 03 July

Celebrating the best of Fitzrovia’s food and drink scene, this week long festival is a must-do. Bringing the community together and highlighting the area’s global food offerings. Click here to visit their website for more information.

2. Charlotte Street Summer Fayre – Friday, 01 July from 11am until 7pm

Charlotte Street will be closed to traffic on Friday 01 July and instead local food stalls will line the street, a Beach BBQ cook off will be hosted as some of the best cafes in Fitzrovia go head to head to be crowned Beach BBQ Champion 2016, a Live Food Show where chefs demonstrate their favourite dishes live on stage and even a chilli challenge will be taking place! Don’t bother bringing a packed lunch to work!

3. Pop Up Shop #INTHEFROMXBHF – Friday 03 June to Sat 11 June from 10am – 7pm

Style, Beauty and Travel blogger Victoria Magrath of In The F-Row has opened up a pop up show at 35-37 Neal Street, Covent Garden. The shop will be selling items donated from her designer wardrobe and beauty collection, as well as donations from other bloggers and key fashionable pieces from 750 shops across the UK. The idea is for shoppers to be able to treat themselves to items from famous closets for bargain prices. All the money raised will help the British Heart Foundation fund life saving research.

4. FitzFest – Wednesday, 08 June to Saturday, 11th June

Fitzrovia’s annual community music festival kicked off yesterday and will run until 11 June. Celebrating musical heritage from past generations as well as the contemporary diversity present today. The festival is made up of a variety of concerts, workshops and social events featuring musicians who have lived or working in Fitzrovia over the years and often play instruments made in Fitzrovia! 5. Free Yoga – Saturday, 11 June from 9am until 10.30am

Professional Yoga Teacher Andy Sotto will be teaching yoga at Fitzrovia Chapel, London. If you are in need of some relaxation, this free class won’t ‘stretch’ the budget like so many others do!

6. At Home in Britain: Designing the House of Tomorrow – Wednesday, 18th May to Monday, 29th August

An exhibition at the Royal Institute of British Architects in London showcasing the lack of suitable and affordable housing in the UK. Six contemporary architecture practices from Britain, the Netherlands and France have been newly commissioned to re-examine how we live and present thought-provoking ideas for future housing design, through speculative and creative responses to contemporary life.

7.  Future Talent: Creative Careers Fair’ – Monday 06 June to Tuesday 07 June from 11am until 17pm

Soho Create is hosting a careers fair with bite-sized talks from cutting-edge Soho companies to find out what they’re working on and how to get what it takes to work for them. There will be workshops and valuable one-to-ones with some of London’s top creative recruiters so bring along your CV’s. Competitions, freebies, food, drinks and music provide a great atmosphere for finding your dream job! It’s free to attend, so head over to Soho Square and check it out.

8. A pub crawl through history: Pubs and Literature Guided Walk – Thursday, 23 June at 6.30pm

Author and Fitzrovia News editor Mike Pentelow will be leading a guided walk around Fitzrovia’s pubs and talking about the neighbourhood’s literary connections. Meet at Fitzrovia Neighbourhood Centre, 39 Tottenham Street at 6.15pm for a 6.30pm depart.

If you live or work in Fitzrovia, you’ll be familiar with its busy, vibrant nature so why not make the most of its event offerings this month. If you’re simply visiting, hopefully this varied list will provide you with something fun or interesting to head along to.
