Cyber Essentials Assessor
Qualified assessment for Cyber Essentials certification.
What is a Cyber Essentials Assessor?

A Cyber Essentials Assessor is a trained cyber security professional authorised to assess whether an organisation meets the Cyber Essentials criteria. Assessors review the submitted answers, check them against the scheme requirements, and issue certification where the organisation meets the standard.
This role helps keep the scheme consistent, credible, and useful for businesses that need recognised cyber assurance.
Fitzrovia IT achieved Cyber Essentials Assessor status through the required IASME training and assessment route. Cyber Essentials Assessors must work for a Certification Body and must be based in the UK or Crown Dependencies.
IASME also expects Assessors to understand the scheme requirements well enough to judge whether an organisation’s answers meet the criteria.
Clients receive support from people who understand the assessment process from the inside. That matters when an organisation needs to know whether its current controls meet the standard, where its answers need more evidence, and what must change before submission.
A qualified Assessor helps turn the process into something clear, practical, and achievable.
The benefits to your business
Receive clearer guidance during certification
A qualified Assessor can explain what the scheme requires and help organisations understand where evidence or technical changes may be needed before submission.
Avoid delays and failed submissions
Many businesses struggle with unclear answers or incomplete information during certification. Assessment support helps reduce unnecessary back-and-forth.
Gain a better understanding of your security posture
The process helps organisations identify weaknesses in device management, software updates, user permissions, and wider cyber security controls.
Approach certification with more confidence
Working with an experienced Assessor makes the process feel more manageable, particularly for businesses completing Cyber Essentials for the first time.
