Unfortunately, with the Olympics being held in Rio, the time difference can make it tricky to watch some of the major events. However, there are lots of locations around London where you can catch some of the action, most of which are conveniently located by cafes and restaurants where you can grab some lunch or dinner and enjoy a variety of other entertainment.
Beach East – the Queen Elizabeth Olympic park is a rather fitting location for the occasion! With 2,200 sq m of sand and live coverage of the games, its sure to provide a great atmosphere. There are also plenty of food and drink stalls to keep you well fed and watered while you enjoy the beach and what the games have to offer.
The Scoop at More London, Queens Walk – this years ‘Official Fanzone’, and part of the London Bridge City Summer Festival, you’ll be able to watch the games in a scenic spot and take part in a few of the sporting events being hosted on the banks of the Thames.
Regents Place – very close to our offices, we watched some of the swimming here earlier in the week. In fact, the feature image was taken by the lovely Emma during our lunch in Regents Place! Surrounded by cafes and with lots of seating, it’s a great space to grab lunch and check out what’s happening in Rio. There are a host of other activities to do including an assault course and an adult sports day!
Exchange Square, Broadgate – with a band and dancers entertaining crowds, you’ll definitely be kept in the carnival spirit and get to watch the games with a great atmosphere!
Paddington Central – relax in a deck chair and watch the world and the Olympic athletes go by! Plenty of restaurants and health & wellbeing focussed celebrations.
Merchant Square – Not quite Copacabana beach, with the Thames close by it’s a close second…! Grab a Caipirinha, sit back and relax.
