A bold statement but one which would appear to be fitting…

The upsides

One of the biggest problems people had with the iPhone 6/6 plus when it was first released was it only really came in one size – big or bigger. But it doesn’t need to be this big to be this good…

The new iPhone SE has a screen size of 4-inch, so on the outside it looks very similar to iPhone 5s, but inside it features all the benefits of the iPhone 6s and more. It’s also the most affordable iPhone yet.

It still features a 12-megapixel iSight rear camera and there’s a new image signal processor and support for 4K video recording and panoramic images up to 63Mp. It’s still capable of shooting the Live Photos video trick seen on the iPhone 6/6s, although, the front-facing FaceTime camera isn’t quite as advanced and only has automatic HDR for photos, not video. It does however have Retina Flash, like the iPhone 6s/6s plus, which lights up the screen three times brighter for taking the ultimate selfies!

The best news is the battery life. With the latest version of iOS, the same 64-bit A9 processor and M9 motion co-processor as the iPhone 6s, the iPhone SE is twice as fast as the iPhone 5s and lasts over 2hrs longer than iPhone 6s.

The iPhone SE also supports Apple Pay for making mobile payments.

The downsides

There’s been no real design improvement, apart from being mildly thinner and slightly more rounded than old iPhone 5s, it even fits into most 5s cases! The biggest drawback is that it doesn’t have features such as waterproofing or expandable storage like some of its competitors do.

All in all, it has a sleek, attractive design, it’s size makes it easier to handle than its larger counterparts yet it comes with nearly all the goodness of the highest end iPhones inside.
